Focusing Yourself To Lift Weights

When I was starting training with weights one of the greatest challenges I encountered was staying focused with my training. I used to train for a period of not more than a month and then I would find myself drifting away until I stopped training. That was until I attended a mind blowing seminar which taught me how to stay focused with my training. Some of the pointers which we were told will help us focus on our training in that seminar include the following. 1. Know what you want The number one reason why most people fail while training in the gym is because they cheat themselves. If you are not honest with the self you will not be able to train and achieve that wonderful physique you’ve been dying to get. You need to know what drives you to come to the gym or in other words your passion for going to the gym. If you find that your morale has been going down of late then take time and meditate on the reason you first began training and use this to be your source of inspiration to train even harder. 2. Visualise with your mind What the mind can see the mind can achieve. This is a very common Chinese saying which applies not only to training but many other things in life. Close your eyes and try to picture the kind of physique you will like to achieve and then when you go to the gym hot those weights hard as if your life depended on it. The Chinese mi
litary usually had thee principle which they used to enable them visualize properly. They included; Desire, discipline and finally Action. Desire means wanting get something very badly and you will do almost anything to get it. Discipline is very essential if you want to attain what desire. Without discipline you will fail in anything you are striving to achieve. Once you have a clear picture of what you want then the next step is taking the right cause of action which will take you to your goal. 3. Apply what motivates you Exactly what do you want to get out of your training? The answer you give to this question should be what motivates you to go to the gym. Always keep in mind wherever you feel your motivation level is going low. 4. Have an expectation Every time you go to the gym to work those muscles have expectations at the end of each training session. This will also serve as a motivating factor when you are feeling down because you are expecting to gain at the end of it all. 5. Avoid distractions. The most common distraction for many bodybuilders is the company they keep. This is especially true if most of the people you associate with are party animals. You might end indulging a lot in alcohol and once you do this your chance of gaining muscles are doomed, Alcohol inhibits the formation of muscles and if you are a serious trainer you need to avoid it.
